LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A community in South Carolina is mourning a veteran teacher who lost her life to COVID-19 last weekend.
Staci Blakely spent 30 years teaching elementary school students in Lexington County.

The school district said the 50-year-old teacher tested positive back on Nov. 11. She fought for weeks before losing her battle with the virus Saturday.
The district said no one else in her class has tested positive.
