CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are looking for the people who broke into West Charlotte High School Monday morning.
Investigators said the would-be burglars tried to steal a drone.
Police said they learned about the break-in after an alarm went off at the school around 5:45 a.m.
They said the vandals trashed three classrooms and the teacher's lounge.
Officers said they chased after the vandals, but they got away.
“(I’m) not really surprised,” resident Tunisha Pratt said. “There's a lot that has been going on in this neighborhood.”
Pratt attended West Charlotte and has a son that will be going to the school next year.
She’s worried about the recent crime in the neighborhood.
“As parents, we try to best as we can,” she said. “Unfortunately, we can't be with them 24 hours a day. We try to guide them the way we had.”
