ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. — The United States Coast Guard has rescued three mariners after their sailboat became disabled more than 50 miles off the North Carolina coast.
The Coast Guard was notified around 9:45 a.m. Saturday of a disabled 36-foot sailboat approximately 50 miles east southeast of Cape Lookout, North Carolina.
Officials said once notified, they launched the "Coast Guard Cutter Richard Snyder" to assist the boat and sent an HC-130 Hercules airplane to establish communication with those onboard.

Officials said all on board were wearing life jackets during the incident and no injuries or medical conditions were reported.
