CHARLOTTE — U.S. Bancorp held a grand-opening celebration Wednesday for its new flagship branch in SouthPark — another step in its local retail expansion initiative. It anticipates adding two more Charlotte-area stores later this year.
The 4,964-square-foot branch is at 4525 Sharon Road — and it is U.S. Bank’s largest one in the local market. It is a full-service branch, providing resources in consumer banking, mortgage, wealth management and small-business services. The store currently houses five employees.

“The SouthPark area is really special. It’s vibrant,” said Ashley Cumberbatch, U.S. Bank’s North Carolina branch banking market leader, who is based in Charlotte. “There’s a large residential area, and it’s also very important for businesses. So, this gives us an opportunity to touch even more individuals in small business.”
U.S. Bank’s SouthPark branch opening is a part of the institution’s 2019 pledge to add 10 branches in the Charlotte area in the coming years.
