CHARLOTTE — No detail has been overlooked at Uptown’s Mariposa.
Spanish for “butterfly,” Mariposa signifies change, evolution and growth — and a transformation is exactly what happened at the space at 500 South Tryon Street, formerly home to Halcyon.
“Halcyon had been around for about 10 years, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to kind of spruce the space up and transform in a sense,” explains executive chef Jonathan Moore. “It’s like an upscale potluck of sorts with a global influence.”
>> In the video at the top of this page, Your704′s Elsa Gillis talks to Moore and general manger Brad Grubb about what it was like opening a new restaurant during the pandemic, and she gets a taste of some of the chef’s creations.
