CHARLOTTE — A local group took to the streets to paint a healthier picture for Chalrotte’s future.
The Uptown Farmers Market hosted its first Market Festival on Nutrition Saturday morning.
Volunteers gathered on South Davidson Street to paint fruits and vegetables in the bike lanes along that stretch of road.

“It will be a wonderful addition of color to the city, Uptown, and center city Charlotte. It will remind us all to eat healthy,” volunteer Jan Johnson said.
The market said it received a placemaking grant from the city to fund the unique project.
