CHARLOTTE — The upper-level roadway at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport has partially reopened after temporarily closing on Sept. 27 for canopy construction, officials said.

The construction at the drop-off and pick-up area has caused major traffic problems.

Crews plan to reopen the curbside ticket counters and check-in Wednesday.

Work will continue for the next 18 months, which will require the upper-level roadway to close nightly and open during the day for passenger drop-off and pick-up.
