UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A Union County Sheriff’s deputy was charged Friday with assault on a female and communicating threats following an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher Scott Horne, 49, is now on administrative duty pending the outcome of the case.
The charges are connected with a domestic incident involving Horne and his estranged wife, which allegedly occurred on Dec. 21, 2018.
Horne’s estranged wife filed a report with the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 5, and detectives began an investigation.
A magistrate found probable cause and issued a criminal summons against Horne.
His court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
