WAXHAW, N.C. — This is the last week of classes before Christmas for students at local schools and the week is packed with holiday parties and theme days to get students in the spirit of the season.

But, it is not just the students. Channel 9 came across great pictures of a Union County principal who went all out for his students.
Wednesday was “Dress as a Holiday Character” Day at Kensington Elementary in Waxhaw and Principal Terry Vaugh dressed up as the well-known “Elf on a Shelf.”
But, he didn’t stop there -- he hid in different places around the school and the kids had to come and find him. He was seen hiding behind the glass in a hallway display case, roasting marshmallows by the fire and laying on a hallway railing.
Then, Vaugh took his act outside and the kids spotted him on top of the building.
