WEDDINGTON, N.C. — A man died in a fatal fire Monday on Gatewood Lane in Weddington, authorities said.
The Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, Union County fire marshal, Stallings Fire Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene.
Officials do not believe it was caused by strong storms that were in the area.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed and the cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner's Office.
