Both notes said that the schools immediately followed guidance from the county’s health department after learning about the cases such as following proper cleaning protocols.
Parkwood principal Elizabeth Allen and Waxhaw Elementary principal Yubely Zolke said parents will be notified if their child came in contact with the employees.
School leaders said the district is working closely with the county’s health department to determine who has been in close contact with the employees who tested positive.
This comes one day after Channel 9 learned that a student at Benton Heights Elementary School in Monroe also tested positive for the virus.
The school district sent an alert to parents and said it will let them know if their child was in close contact with the student.
There’s no word on if the schools will move to remote learning.
