Undeveloped midtown site once pegged for condos now listed for sale

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A piece of property that sits along a high-growth corridor in midtown Charlotte has been listed on the market.

JLL has listed a 2.8-acre undeveloped site at the corner of East Morehead Street and Euclid Avenue, a contiguous two-parcel listing that's being called Morehead Overlook. The site includes a 1.5-acre parcel at the hard corner of Morehead and Euclid — 615 E. Morehead St. — as well as a surface parking lot on a 1.4-acre property just behind it, facing Interstate 277.

Hunter Barron, senior director at JLL, who is marketing the site, said it's one of the last undeveloped parcels along that stretch of Morehead, which has seen significant growth with construction activity in nearby uptown, South End and Dilworth. The site was pegged for a condo tower in the 2000s, but those plans were shelved just before the recession hit.
