Kevin Olsen, the star quarterback at UNC Charlotte and younger brother of Carolina Panther Greg Olsen, is out of jail after posting bail of more than $100,000 after being charged with rape.

Police said the attack happened early Sunday at an off-campus apartment on Sidney Crest Avenue.

The accuser called police and was treated for injuries at the hospital.

The report said she had bruises and scratches.

The younger Olsen made his first appearance Monday in court where his bail was set at $103,000.

Olsen’s parents didn't speak as they quickly walked from the Mecklenburg County Courthouse after the hearing.

However, students on UNC-Charlotte's campus were talking about the star quarterback's arrest.

Lauren Accor said it hurts the university.

"That doesn't really look good on us all because athletes are supposed to model, be the ones that lead the campus," she said.

Olsen faces three counts of forcible rape, one count of forcible fondling, cyberstalking and assault on a female.

Another student, Max Stanich, said if the allegations are true, there's no excuse.

"Whether he's an athlete or not, you can’t subject women to that kind of behavior. Anyone needs to be held accountable for something like that," he said.

In court, prosecutors alleged that Olsen texted the woman and threatened to kill her.

They said he raped her, punched her in the face and also threatened to kill himself, wrapping a phone charger around his neck.

In an interview with Channel 9 sports anchor Phil Orbin last April, Olsen admitted problems in his past, such as a DUI arrest.

Out of high school, in Wayne, New Jersey, Olsen committed to the Miami Hurricanes but left after being suspended from the team several times and failing a drug test.

Olsen never played at Miami after being charged with a DUI and possession of a fake or stolen ID in September 2014.

Olsen transferred to Towson, in Maryland, where he was kicked off the team in March 2015 for violating team rules.

Olsen played football in the fall of 2015 for Riverside California City College.

He played well there and signed with the Charlotte 49ers in December 2015.

Olsen won the 49ers' starting quarterback position last spring.

However, he appeared in just six games last season.

"This a last chance.  I know I’ve had more chances than other people get," Olsen said last spring.

He’s now been suspended from UNC-Charlotte athletics.

However, some students told Channel 9, if the charges are true,  they don't expect justice.

"I feel like because he's an athlete, he's not going to get in as much trouble as he should in general, and because of who his brother is," Accor said.

Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen was not in court Monday with his family.

UNCC released this statement:

The University administration has been in close communication with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department regarding its arrest of student-athlete Kevin Olsen Sunday afternoon. The allegations in this incident took place off campus. This incident occurred a week after a separate, unrelated case of alleged on-campus sexual assault involving acquaintances. Olsen has been suspended from Charlotte Athletics, and the University is reviewing the case consistent with its disciplinary procedures. Due to the ongoing CMPD investigation and federal protections on student information, the University will have no further comment on the investigation at this time.
