CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has issued more than $830,000 in parking tickets over the last two years.
Channel 9 learned 80% of the money goes to the state and 20% goes back into the parking budget.
Students told Eyewitness News reporter Erin Edwards that the new parking deck on campus has made campus issues a little better, but finding parking is still a struggle.
And If you park illegally, students said parking attendants will issue a citation.
“I love being a Niner, it’s just the parking. You have to factor that in," one student said.
Watch the video above to hear a breakdown of the parking citations and what changes students hope school officials make to help alleviate parking issues.
