CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — It’s been more than four years since UNC Chapel Hill sophomore Faith Hedgepeth was killed inside her apartment, and her killer still has not been found.
Hedgepeth’s roommate found her Sept. 7, 2012 beaten to death in her room, partially clothed and with blood splattered in the room. Police believe she was also raped.
A note believed to be written by the killer was also found nearby on a fast food bag. It said, “I’m not stupide [expletive],” and the word “Jealous.”
Authorities have collected the killer’s DNA, but his identity still remains a mystery.
ABC’s 20/20 will take a closer look Friday at the hours leading up to Hedgepeth’s murder along with evidence that has never been released. It airs at 10 p.m. Eyewitness News at 11 p.m. follows.
