UNC Charlotte hosts dance marathon, raises money for Levine Children’s Hospital

CHARLOTTE — People put on their dancing shoes for a great cause on Saturday.

UNC Charlotte hosted their annual ‘Ninerthon’, a dance marathon where all the money raised was donated to Levine Children’s Hospital to fund pediatric medical equipment. People met at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the college’s Belk Gym to join in on a fun way to support and help the community.

Julia Drago, director of sponsorship and catering for the event, expressed her gratitude to everyone who participated in the eight-hour-long event.

“We’re just super excited to be here, and we’re thankful for everybody who came out and danced today. It’s an 8-hour event,” Drag said.

The fun didn’t end with dancing; the university also held a water balloon donation event. People were able to buy water balloons for $2 each, and all the funds raised during that event went to Levine’s Children’s Hospital as well.
