GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gaston County Police Department obtained warrants Friday for two people in connection with vandalism at a cemetery.
The vandalism happened between July 18 and Aug. 11 at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery at 800 N. 13th St. in Bessemer City, N.C.
The damage to the cemetery was more than $6,000.
Joshua Aaron Kimray, 23, of Gastonia, was charged with one count of felony desecration of a grave.
Michael Dennis Fitzgibbons, 25, of Bessemer City, was charged with two counts of felony desecration of a grave.
A juvenile male was also involved in the Aug.11 incident and will be charged at a later date in juvenile court.
Based on the information collected during the investigation, warrants for first-degree burglary and felony larceny were also obtained for Kimray and Fitzgibbons. The charges are related to a residential burglary on July 18 at 902 N. 12th St., Bessemer City.
