MONROE, N.C. — Two more people were charged in connection with the shooting death of a Monroe man over the summer, according to police.
Carroll Willis Griffin was found shot next to his car on July 11, 2015, on East Hudson Street. Griffin died as a result of his injuries.
Jadis Deon'tae Cole, 18, was arrested July 17 and charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and obstruction of justice.
Recently, two other men were arrested in connection with Griffin's death.
Randy Vernon Thompson, 46, of 408 N. Thompson Street, Monroe, was charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of firearm by felon, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Thompson was already in the Union County Jail on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest.
Dustin Octavius Belk, 24, of 3209 Frank Broome Road, Monroe, was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of firearm by felon.
