CHARLOTTE — A 45-year-old man died after an 18-wheeler hit him while he was underneath a trailer Friday in a north Charlotte parking lot, investigators said.
At about 8:40 a.m., officers responded to the parking lot of 701 Atando Avenue because of a report of a wreck involving a pedestrian.
The driver of the truck was dropping off a trailer at the location.

After detaching it, the driver moved the truck to the other side of the business to attach another trailer.
Jose Danilo Guerra-Mejia was removing a security device from under that trailer when the truck driver backed up to it.
Guerra-Mejia was struck and taken to Atrium Health CMC with life-threatening injuries, where he died.
Investigators said the truck driver did not know the man was underneath the trailer.
No charges were filed.
