GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A woman and her dog were killed in a two-car crash Saturday evening in Gaston County, troopers said.
Officers said the woman was driving her Kia on Dallas Cherryville Highway when she ran off the road and over-corrected into the path of an oncoming Jeep Wrangler.
The woman died at the scene. The female driver of the Jeep was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Troopers identified the woman killed in the crash as 51-year-old Kimberly Jonelle Ard from Cherryville.
No other information has been released.
