MINT HILL, N.C. — Emergency officials had to close a portion of the Interstate 485 inner loop in Mint Hill early Monday as state troopers investigated a deadly crash.
The rollover crash happened around 3 a.m. and the inner loop was shut down for hours at Lawyers Road.
Just before 4:30 a.m., troopers told Channel 9 reporter Gina Esposito that the male driver died in the crash. They said the driver was the only person in the car when it hit a guardrail and flipped. Investigators said speed may have played a role in the wreck.
