Troopers investigating deadly ATV crash in Avery County

AVERY COUNTY, N.C. — One person is dead after an ATV crash in Avery County, officials said.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol told Channel 9 the crash happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday along Rogers Ridge Road near Newland.

Troopers said only one ATV was involved but have not released the name of the rider who died.

The crash is under investigation.
