DAVIDSON, N.C. — The town of Davidson renovated an old school into a new town hall and community center.
Leaders held a grand opening on Saturday. The event was held on South Street in downtown Davidson.
Half of the building is open with space for community gathering. The rest is set up for town leaders to use.

Mayor Rusty Knox is excited for what the new space will do for the town.
“This is just such a big day for our town. With the space issues we’ve had for years, to be able to get this facility from Mecklenburg County and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Systems to facilitate not only space for our staff, but also space for our citizens, is just magnificent,” Knox said.
The previous town hall will now be used by the fire and police departments.
