CHARLOTTE — Charlotte may not have a team playing in Super Bowl LVII but the Queen City definitely has a beloved player competing in Sunday’s big game.
“At Mallard Creek, we’re just proud of him and to have the chance to play in the national championship, win a national championship, and then a year later be able to play the Super Bowl, that’s top-notch,” said Kennedy Tinsley, head coach at Mallard Creek High School.
Jordan Davis is a rookie for the Philadelphia Eagles who will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s game.
The defensive tackle grew up in Charlotte and was a sought-after 2018 graduate of Mallard Creek.
Tinsley said Friday was Jordan Davis Day, and everyone wore Eagles gear.
