CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte’s breweries walked away with accolades for 24 different beers at the 2018 N.C. Brewers Cup.
This year’s competition saw 76 breweries from across North Carolina compete. Winners were selected from 624 entries.
Cavendish Brewing Co. in Gastonia topped that list locally, taking home six awards. That list includes golds for its Kesselflicker, Disordinary and Steam Whistle Dampfbier as well as a silver, bronze and honorable mention nod.
Triple C Brewing’s Grill Friend took home the bronze for best in show — as well as a gold medal in the smoked beer category. It also brought home a silver for its Triple C IPA.
