CHARLOTTE — World Cup champion Lionel Messi’s skills will be on display at Bank of America Stadium this fall.
Messi announced that he’ll be joining Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami CF this year. But after the news dropped, tickets for Charlotte FC’s game on October 21 against Inter Miami CF shot up in price.
Ticketmaster showed plenty of tickets costing thousands of dollars, and if you want to sit near the center of the field with a close view of the action, be prepared to shell out as much as $10,000.
Seats in the 300-levels were also being listed by resellers at thousands of dollars, according to Ticketmaster’s website.
Charlotte FC posted a reminder on social media that the upper bowl would be open for the game. Those tickets were slightly more palatable at $75-$100 each shortly after 3 p.m., but even those prices were already jumping up to $125 each by 4 p.m.
Messi will be signing a four-year deal with Inter Miami CF, and there’s a good chance that he’ll actually make his MLS debut against Charlotte FC when the squad travels to Miami in August.
You can see which tickets are still left at this link.
