CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte residents are invited to meet the final three candidates for Charlotte city manager on Wednesday at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.
The three finalists are: Ron Carlee, Ruffin Hall and Ron Kimble.
Carlee has served as the COO for International City/County Management Association since 2009. He manages day-to-day operations and leads strategy and operational efforts to support local government managers in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to his work with ICMA, Carlee served as the county manager for Arlington County, Va., from 2001 to 2009. To see his full bio, click here.
Hall has served as an assistant city manager since 2012. He is responsible for developing policies that guide and manage the growth of the city including planning, transportation, land use and economic development initiatives. He joined the city in 2001 and was appointed Budget and Evaluation Director in 2002, a position he held until being selected as an assistant city manager. To see his full bio, click here.
Kimble joined the city of Charlotte in 2000 as an assistant city manager. He has served as deputy city manager since 2007. Kimble is responsible for economic development, redevelopment, hospitality and tourism, and intergovernmental relations for the city. Kimble joined the city of Charlotte in 2000 from Greenville, N.C., where he served as city manager for 10 years. To see his full bio, click here.
Wednesday’s event includes a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by sessions at 6:30 p.m., where the public can meet in smaller groups with the finalists.
