CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With tens of thousands of visitors in town this week for the Coca-Cola 600, local and federal law enforcement agents are teaming up with area nonprofits to crack down on human trafficking.
Officials say they spoke with 11 victims who helped them track down potential human traffickers. Three people were arrested as a result – one of whom is being investigated for human trafficking.
Several victims were put in contact with victim services representatives to help get them out of sex trafficking and into a safe situation so they can begin rebuilding their lives.
