Lockdown at Thomasboro Academy lifted after reports of shots fired nearby

Thomasboro Academy was briefly placed on lockdown Friday morning after police said shots were fired in the area.

The school was taken off lockdown a short time later at 12:15 p.m.

Police said they received a call for shots fired on Marble Street, but didn't find any evidence that someone was shot.

Chopper 9 flew over the school in northwest Charlotte where police could be seen on the campus.
