Texas men found guilty of trafficking $1.5M in drugs in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A federal jury found two Texas men guilty of trafficking more than $1.5 million worth of drugs in North Myrtle Beach.

Prosecutors said Abraham Rodriguez and Ruben Rodriguez would travel from Texas to Myrtle Beach, dropping off cocaine at safe houses in North Carolina.

The men were arrested after a raid on their beachfront resort hotel room.

Investigators said drug dealers armed with assault weapons kept watch, some traveling from as far as Washington, D.C., to assist in the operation.

Evidence showed they spent large amounts of cash partying in Myrtle Beach nightclubs and buying high-end cars.
