Tex-Mex restaurant closes one Charlotte location, halts work on another

CHARLOTTE — Tex-Mex concept Superica has temporarily closed up shop in South End, ending its foray into take-out and delivery service.

Superica’s parent, Atlanta-based Rocket Farm Restaurants, says that decision comes as the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to spread. All dining rooms at its establishments were already closed.

“We feel we have a moral and civic duty to be proactive and help prevent the spread,” says Toby Franklin, chief operating officer for Rocket Farm Restaurants.

In addition, construction is suspended on the company’s planned second location in Charlotte.
