CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A portion of Highway 151 in Chesterfield County will be shut down for most of the day after a tanker crashed and spilled hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel.
The wreck happened before dawn on Thursday, just south of the town of Jefferson.
The tanker flipped and spilled more than 300 gallons of diesel fuel, officials said.
Highway 151 was closed from Miller Flat Road to Eubanks Road and drivers are being told to avoid the area.

Authorities said the driver of the tanker was not hurt.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control has been called to the scene to help with the clean-up efforts.
