HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A beloved CMS high school teacher has died and her school community is raising money to support her family.
Lauren Talton, 39, was a teacher at North Mecklenburg High School, according to her GoFundMe created Monday. An online obituary said Talton died on Feb. 6 after a heart attack, leaving behind a husband and two daughters.
“No matter what, Mrs. Talton always delegated and organized every task with humor and love,” the GoFundMe said. “She curated a special relationship with everyone she met. In honor of a life taken from us too soon, the Viking family is raising funds for the family she leaves behind.”
Students and friends have already donated and by Wednesday afternoon, had raised more than $25,000.
