Tabernacle stolen from church in Boone; police looking for suspects

Boone, N.C. — Authorities in Boone are trying to track down the people responsible for stealing a tabernacle from the alter of a church.

The Boone Police Department said the tabernacle was stolen from the Saint Elizabeth Church sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The tabernacle is 2 feet tall by 1 foot wide, and made of yellow brass.

Police are asking that anyone with surveillance cameras in those areas to check for suspicious activity.
