CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people shooting at someone in another car led to a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday evening on North Graham Street and sent three people to the hospital.

The targeted car, driven by a man, was hit by gunfire several times just before 5:30 p.m. near Dogwood Avenue.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the crash scene and could see three badly damaged vehicles blocking the road.

The unsettling scene unfolded during the evening drive, and too close to Teneisha Smith's barbershop.
"It was far too close. Like I'm on my porch, and it's less than 100 feet away,” Smith said.
She was at work when the shots rang out.
"I thought it was my cellphone or my TV,” Smith said.
Investigators said the shooters were in one car and that they ran from the scene and have not been caught.
The man they were shooting at was not hit by bullets but was taken to the hospital for injuries from the crash.
Two other people in a third car that had nothing to do with the gunfire were also taken to the hospital, but authorities said they should be OK.
We’re told one of those victims is a 65-year-old man. A family friend said he has a knee injury.
"There was a lot of chaos,” Smith said.
She said it is a wonder that the bullets didn't hit the other cars or the businesses that line that stretch of Graham Street.
"Stop the violence,” Smith said. “It's getting pretty bad here in Charlotte."
The Army veteran said she is now starting to bring her gun to work.
"I will be carrying to protect myself and my clients’ protection,” Smith, who is licensed to carry, said.
The motive behind the shooting is being investigated.
