CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested two men after chasing a vehicle Tuesday night that was believed to have been used in an armed robbery on Monday.
The car was spotted by police on North Tryon Street.
When they attempted to pull the car over, the driver led them on a chase down the Interstate 485 outer loop.
Officers were assisted in their pursuit by the CMPD helicopter.
The car eventually broke down and caught fire on I-485 near the exit to I-85.
Deion Thompson, 22, and Karrington Paige, 24, were taken in to custody. Police found two firearms inside the car.
The armed robbery occurred Monday at 2:09 a.m. in the Wingate Apartments.
Police said two men robbed a man at gunpoint in the apartment complex’s parking lot.
Steele Creek detectives are trying to determine if the men in custody were the same pair who robbed the victim.
