CLOVER, S.C. — A man wanted for a deadly shooting in York County was arrested early Sunday morning, deputies said.
Authorities found 34-year-old Kevin Gil in a hotel in Gastonia. He was taken into custody at around 2 a.m. by Gastonia Police.
Gil is accused of shooting and killing a person Monday night on Bowling Green Road, outside of Clover.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting and they have not identified the person who died.
“We’re thankful that this suspect was apprehended without incident to face his charges,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “His apprehension was a constant and collaborative effort by multiple agencies and our utmost thanks goes out to them. It is yet another example of great police work by our deputies and great teamwork with our neighboring and federal partners.”
Gil will stay in North Carolina until he can be brought back to York County, officials said.
York Co. Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a homicide that happened on Bowling Green Road outside of Clover last night. One person was shot and killed. There is no one in custody yet. Deputies plan to release a photo of a possible suspect shortly.
