NORTH CAROLINA — Virginia became the first southern state to legalize marijuana and now, some say North Carolina could be next.
Interest is growing among lawmakers. They’ve introduced four bills just this year that would legalize marijuana in some way and one bill aims to reclassify some marijuana related crimes as “non-criminal” rather than misdemeanors.

“I think people are ready for medical marijuana in North Carolina and in the South in general,” owner of Greenlife Remedies Matt Houser said.
