MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Students and their families went out to Woodlawn School in Mooresville this past weekend for the annual STEAMFest, which the school says is North Carolina’s largest STEM and arts festival.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities at various booths, including model home building, puppet art, and calligraphy. The festival aimed to foster interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education among children and their families.

Many of the activities were created by teachers, students, and local universities, and the festival provided a platform for them to showcase their work and share their passion for STEAM education.

Jessica Campbell-Hamilton, a parent who attended the event with her daughter, expressed her excitement about the festival’s ability to tap into her daughter’s creative side.

“She’s always pushing us to have her do different things, which is good as a family,” Campbell-Hamilton said. “I’m excited for her ability at a young age to be engaged in this kind of event.”
