Students to discover more efficient paths in competency-based education

YORK, S.C. — York School District One will take part in competency-based education next year, which will give students more freedom to decide which courses to take and when they can take them.

It is one of only two school districts in South Carolina chosen for the program. The other district is in Lexington County.

Anyone enrolled in York District One can take advantage of these changes next year.

The program could be implemented in other school districts if it is successful.
