Student arrested in connection with bomb threat at school

CORNELIUS, N.C. — Cornelius police and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools arrested a student Wednesday in connection with a Tuesday bomb threat made at a local high school.

Riley Bowlin, 16, was arrested. A bomb threat was made at William A. Hough High School at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police received a 911 call from Bowlin in reference to a bomb threat at the school. The school was evacuated and there was no device found during a search.

Bowlin was charged with one felony count of making a false bomb report and is being transported to a Mecklenburg County jail.
