CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One of the four Charlotte-Mecklenburg school students accused of participation in a violent fight involving a high school administrator faced a judge Monday.

Honesty Williams didn't say much except "thank you" when a judge unsecured her bond, allowing her out of jail.

The 19-year-old Harding High School student has been in jail since Friday, when she turned herself in for her alleged role in a violent fight with an administrator recorded on a cell phone.

Will Adams, leader of the local anti-violence group Team Tru-Blue, shook his head when Eyewitness News anchor Liz Foster showed him the video.

“The parents need to be checked just as much as the kids,” Adams said. He continued, “That parent needs to stand behind the system and make sure that child.. the message has been sent to keep their hands to themselves.”

Three other students are also facing assault charges: Shaquila Hill, Kiyanna Barnes and a male juvenile. Foster stopped by a couple of their homes today but no one opened the door.

Channel 9 has followed the developing story since Wednesday. On Friday, we talked with the administrator in the middle of this fight, Annette Albright. She said she told the students to go back to class when the violence erupted.

Channel 9 requested an interview Monday with the CMS police chief but a district spokesperson said he was unavailable.

Records show Hill and Barnes will be in court July 8.

CMS police investigators have wrapped up their investigation into the fight; but the district itself is still investigating.
