PINEVILLE, N.C. — Police activity forced officials to place Sterling Elementary School in Pineville on lockdown Friday afternoon, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after, at about 3:15 p.m.
The school is off China Grove Church Road near the Carolina Pavilion Shopping Center on South Boulevard.
Channel 9 contacted police to find out why officers were called to the area.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene to gather more information.
