Statesville man walking to apartment killed by falling tree, officials say

STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Statesville man walking from his car to his apartment was killed when a large tree blew over and fell on him, officials said.

It happened Friday at 501 Mulberry St.

Three vehicles in the parking lot were also damaged.
