CHARLOTTE — Channel 9 learned Tuesday of a big update regarding mental and behavioral health services in Mecklenburg County.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services officially gave the county approval to split from Cardinal Innovations Healthcare and transition to Alliance Health.
That will happen by Dec. 15.
Mecklenburg County joins Cabarrus, Stanly and Union counties in cutting ties with Cardinal and getting approval from the state to switch to other companies.
