Kakavitsas has served traditional Thanksgiving meals made at the restaurant since 2007.
“We're preparing to feed over 3,000 people tomorrow,” owner Jimmy Kakavitsas said.
Kakavitsas and his team box up meals with all the fixings for the community.
“We already cooked over 80 big turkeys. I got another 50,” he said.
“Every year, we give more and more people,” Kakavitsas said.
He said that means that more people need help and that is why giving back to the community means so much to him.
“This is something to let people know you're thankful for their support all these years,” Kakavitsas said.
The free boxed meals will be available for take-out from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at Skyland Family Restaurant.
