CHARLOTTE — Southwest Airlines Co. is adding five new routes and restoring more than 20 others — including two at Charlotte Douglas International Airport — that it had previously cut.
The restored routes include year-round Sunday service between CLT and Houston Hobby Airport as well as seasonal Sunday service from Charlotte Douglas to Denver International Airport. Both routes will resume on Sept. 10.

Customers can now book flights through Oct. 4.
The Dallas-based carrier’s latest schedule extension comes as Southwest looks to recover from its operational meltdown in December when it canceled more than 16,700 flights and stranded millions of travelers.
