SouthPark restaurant Bonterra closes after 24-year run

CHARLOTTE — Bonterra has served its last meal after 24 years.

The restaurant’s last day at Phillips Place in SouthPark was over the weekend on July 29, owner J.D. Duncan tells the Charlotte Business Journal. Duncan and his partners had invested roughly $1.8 million into the roughly 3,600-square-foot space, which opened in September.

“Bonterra no longer exists, it’s done,” he says.

Duncan says that restaurant will become Phillips Place Bistro and Sports Bar, with TVs being brought in and the menu being tweaked.
