Southern Women’s Show cancels Charlotte event

Southern Women's Show

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Southern Women’s Show will not take place in Charlotte this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement was made on the show’s Facebook page Monday.

“The show was on track to be another fabulous event, so we are disappointed to make this announcement,” the post read. “However, our number one priority is, and always has been, the safety and health of show guests, and everyone involved with the show.”

Organizers said they were uncertain whether the show, scheduled to take place in September at the Charlotte Convention Center, would be allowed to open since the health crisis continues to escalate; plus, if large events were allowed to take place that rules surrounding public events would be so restrictive that it would impact the show experience.

“In other words, we’ve decided that if the Southern Women’s Show cannot be the fun, festive, and safe event you have always enjoyed, then we would rather wait until next year,” the post read.

Ticket holders will receive an email with information about refunds.

The show is set to return to the Charlotte Convention Center Sept. 24-26, 2021.
