CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Harris Teeter announced Wednesday that it will limit the amount of customers in its stores in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting on April 8 at 5 p.m., only 50% of the building code capacity will be allowed in the store at one time.

The grocery store said in a statement that the change is to further support social distancing. While shopping, customers are asked to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet to protect themselves and those around them.

Along with the customer limit, the grocery store has also changed it hours and is offering special times for seniors to shop.
